We firmly believe travel is a transformational experience that can be a Defining Moment in the lives of young New Zealanders, and we seek to provide that opportunity to every student in the country.

Defining Moments is a Division of House of Travel Whangarei Limited and since our first tour to Vietnam in 2003, we have helped thousands of kiwi high school students go beyond our shores to discover cultures, history,languages, landscapes, industries, and experiences that not only expand and enhance the amazing work done in classrooms by secondary teachers all over the country, but also challenge students to achieve a greater understanding of themselves and their place in the world around them.

Our resolute commitment to the safety and well being of the students we send on tour creates the safe environment that allows students to engage with other cultures in a genuine and equal way. We encourage everyone to try foreign foods, barter with local vendors, ask for directions in the local language, and try tipping for service with the knowledge that these enriching experiences are backed by 24/7 support, both on the ground and from the team in New Zealand.

Our relationship with teachers is built on a partnership to understand the unique needs of leading a tour of students. We know that every school is different and so working together, we create a bespoke tour that perfectly suits the individual requirements of every school we work with.
